UCC Rowing Club trains in both the National Rowing Centre at Inniscarra Lake and the Mardyke Arena in UCC.
The National Rowing Centre is where UCC RC keeps its boats and where the water training is done.
The NRC offers UCC RC an unrivalled 18km of water, an 8 lane 2000m fully buoyed course , full changing facilities and a canteen with kitchen access. In addition to this it is of benefit for us to be situated at the same centre where the National Irish Rowing Team trains from.
The Mardyke Arena UCC is where athletes train during the week. This training includes Runs, Ergo sessions and Weights sessions.
These Strength and Conditioning Weights sessions are done with a fully qualified professional from the Arena and take place in a private squad gym.
The Squad Gym is supplied with a wide range of free weights and is located next to the main gym on the ground floor of the facility.
There are also plenty of fitness machines available in the gym where athletes go to get cardio sessions done, and a swimming pool, saunas and steam rooms for use after sessions. UCC Students can use the Arena, free of charge and at any time
